At Bev's request, I bought some Mammoth sunflower seeds to plant in the front yard at McClendon on Sunday. They grow to 12 feet high. I also got some regular zucchini (all I had before were these little round zucchino), and some rainbow carrots (since none of the farms brought them to the University District Farmers' Market, I decided to grow my own). There was a grab bag of mixed heirloom tomato seeds, as well as a variety of sweet peppers. I got three more 72-well germination trays, so this leaves me gardening in my pjs in the living room, in front of the DVR.
All went well there. It wasn't until I decided to break apart the Bright Lights (rainbow) Swiss chard that was growing out of its 8"-ish germination pot that I ran into trouble. You see, I'm not really sure how to break plants apart into multiple pots. I have to wait until my mommy gets home to help me. I hope all the chard is okay until then. I'd just watered it, so it's beyond moist. One more hour, and she can rescue my salad greens.
And here I fancied myself a gardener...
So here I wait, shamefully watching Ghost Hunters Int'l, just because I have the screaming thigh sweats for Barry.
Is it Bitchin' Kitchen night yet?
