There was no real dinner last night at Zzyzx Road, after spending 3 hours making my Creamy Fava Bean Spread. We'd all planned to watch "The King's Speech" together (with dreamy Colin Firth), so I diced up some garlic naan, sprinkled it with romano and parmesan, topped it all with grape tomatoes sliced in half, and toasted the whole thing. Tiny tomatoes are my favorite snack.
I set out un-cheesed toasted naan, the fabulous fava bean spread (I used dill, mint, plain greek yoghurt, romano, to season it this time, because I wanted a cooling dip), fancy crackers, lots of local goat, sheep, and cow cheese from Mt. Townsend, Samish Bay, Willapa Hills, and Port Madison creameries. Willapa Hills' Fresh with Ewe cheese is the best! Fresh cheese with a blue rind. Periwinkle dust gets everywhere, but it's so worth it.
The movie was great, by the way. I'm banned for life from doing movie reviews, so you should just see it for yourself.

A very good spread, and the movie truly was excellent. Bested my expectations, which were already high.
