So, I'm wandering around the WWW, looking for any tips I can find on growing cardamom and other warm-weather spices and herbs in this 10-month-a-year drainage ditch that we affectionately call Seattle, when I stumble onto a fantastic website by a man named David LaFerney, who built a working, sturdy 10x15-foot greenhouse for about $50. I don't need half that. It's so easy - I'm not even sure that I'd need the husband person, except that he's really cute when he sweats, and he loves to play Vittoli, my executive butler. Every couple has a game, don't they? Don't tell him I said that.
Without further ado, here is a link to the very detailed plans and greenhouse-raising that don't take an entire Amish village or team of mules. Let's hope that my mom understands that there are SOME PLANTS that just aren't going to be grown in my greenhouse. Old hippies die hard, I tell ya.
